Typhoon shackle lock |
IT'S GOTTA BE RIGHT We only sell products we use and enjoy. If you have a problem with anything you buy from us, tell us and we'll sort it out. Pronto. No fuss. No arguments. How secure is this lock?
Instead, take it with you on those more casual trips when you need temporary stop-go protection (cafes, shops, etc). For greater security, check out our Fury chain lock and carry that too if you can fit it on your machine.
At Sump, we always try to shackle our bikes to something fixed, or to another bike in the pack. The next best option is to loop the shackle through the rear wheels and around the shocks. The third choice is to fit the device through the front wheel and forks.
Tip 1: Don't leave the key in the lock when you walk away from the bike. We've seen it happen.
Tip 2: Keep the lock mechanism as clean as possible. You might consider flushing it with WD40 or similar every once in a while (and letting the WD40 dry out). But don't use any thicker lubricant. That simply attracts dust which can gum up the works.
