How reliable is this item?

We have to confess that we
really don't know how reliable these things are. Not from personal experience. Most of our bikes are old/classic British heaps, so we generally don't have the facility for disc locks. Instead, we tend to use heavyweight chains, locks or shackles.

However, many riders strongly recommend this little reminder device (often having been caught out by not having one fitted).

In an ideal world, a disc lock (and any other lock for that matter) would be totally fail safe. In other words, the bike would simply refuse to start with the lock in place. But bikes simply ain't that smart yet, and apparently neither are most of us. We forget stuff. We're fallible. Etc.

If you can devise your own disc lock reminder system, you can save a few quid. If not, this little gizmo might help.
