When ya gotta go, ya gotta go, and there's no time like the present. We could be talking about a lot of things here, but we're talking of course about travelling Route 66, The Mother Road, aka The Will Rogers Memorial Highway, aka Main Street America.
We went there twenty-odd years ago and did it end to end, front to back. And this year (2016) we did it again; all the way from New York to Chicago to Los Angeles, then up to San Francisco, down through Reno and Las Vegas, back on Route 66 for maybe 1500 miles, then on to Memphis, Nashville, Washington and New York.

So that makes our journey a Route 66-Plus road trip. But it was the Chicago to LA bit that hit the high notes. If you haven't been, you've gotta go sooner or later. But as you can't be sure there will be a later, you'd better go now. Or, at least, the sooner the better.
